Hello to all who may read this! It has been a long seven weeks since I last wrote on our shop's blog and a what strange time it has become! Manzanita has been closed to walk-in customers since March 21st due to Oregon's governor's request to "Stay home and Stay healthy". I had to lay off my wonderful staff a few days before that. I hope it won't be too long before I can have them back to work, but this virus has it's own timeline! I have been taking orders for flower deliveries by phone from home (shop number is forwarded to my cell) and have connected with customers who are wanting to send loved ones some cheer, to celebrate birthdays, and offer get well wishes. It has been a pleasure to make my "no contact" deliveries as I wait until I see them pick up their flowers that I left on their porch, and their smiles warm my heart!
This means a hardship on Ashland's small business community of retail shops, restaurants, and bed and breakfast establishments. We all have a challenging 5 months ahead of us without the thousands of visitors and playgoers OSF brings to Ashland. We are putting our hope and faith in our belief that Ashland and Southern Oregon offer a beautiful and diverse vacation destination for wine tasting, river rafting, mountain biking, and just plain relaxation. Our shop, Manzanita Home and Flowers, is ready and waiting with a beautifully curated selection of items perfect for accenting your home, or for wedding gifts, birthday surprises, or special gift for someone just because you love them!
Please stop in and say hi as soon as you hear that downtown Ashland is up and running again! We are located on the plaza between our neighbors, Mix Bakeshop and Greenleaf Restaurant. In the meantime, if you would like to send flowers in Ashland or Talent to someone who needs cheer or an expression of your love, please call me at 541-488-1588 and I will be thrilled to design your bouquet with the same care and passion as always!
